Kadarka is a native grape variety often called the 'Hungarian Pinot Noir' due to its ability to create vibrant food-friendly and terroir-driven red wine.
An attractive light garnet red colour. The intensely fruity nose is packed with youthful, fresh aromas of leafy red berry fruits, cherries, sour cherries and spices. A lively and vibrant character with a spicy palate of red berries complemented by moderate acidity and smooth, gentle tannins, make this easy-drinking vintage the perfect everyday wine.
Food Pairing
The ideal accompaniment to goulash soup, stews, steaks and lamb chops. It also pairs very well with semi-hard cheese like Baracskai or spicy vegetarian dishes dominated by paprika.

Meet the Winemaker
Frittmann Winery, Kunság - Protected Designation of Origin (PDO)
The multi-generational Frittmann winery is run by brothers János and István, who carry on the family winemaking tradition in the Great Plain in southern Hungary. They have achieved the two most prestigious national wine recognitions, becoming Winemaker of the Year in 2007 and Winery of the Year in 2015. They work with grapes from the highest-quality native varieties to prove that the Kunság region can create remarkable, age-worthy wines, an approach vindicated by their serial successes in international competitions.
