Organic Millet Grain 1kg

£4.00

Organic hulled proso millet is a gluten-free ancient grain. Golden yellow with a mild natural sweetness, this is a healthy and versatile ingredient.

Organic millet grains can be turned into a gluten-free side dish similar to couscous, or add it to thicken soups, stews or casseroles. You can also use it for baking bread, muffins and cookies, or prepare a warming porridge.

The millet grains have a higher-than-average protein and fibre content, and they are an excellent source of vitamins and minerals including calcium, magnesium and iron.

Organically cultivated in the heart of Europe and sustainably harvested from the Hungarian Great Plain, its innovative zero-waste production and 100% recyclable plastic-free packaging make this a uniquely environmentally friendly choice.

Cooking recommendation:

Rinse the millet in cold water. Toast the raw millet over medium heat in a saucepan stirring continuously until the grains turn lightly golden (be careful not to let them burn). Place in a saucepan with three times as much water as millet, then bring to a boil, cover and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes until tender and fluffy.
