Bundás kenyér is a Hungarian savoury French toast and this simple traditional recipe is perfect for making an affordable and comforting meal. Serve with bacon for a filling brunch, or crushed garlic for an authentic experience.

Ingredients

4 slices of white bread

2 eggs

4 tbsp milk

1 tsp salt

vegetable oil

garlic (optional)
Directions
Add the eggs, milk and salt to a shallow bowl and whisk together.
Soak the bread slices in the egg mix, turning over after a minute.
Heat a large frying pan on a medium heat. Add oil to lightly coat the bottom of the pan.
Cook the soaked bread for around 4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
